Two oppositely extreme examples — illustrating the rampaging moral and mental decline — of the Anglo-Saxon legal heritage world

The following two news blurbs would be darkly funny if . . .

. . . they did not so spectrum-widely exhibit Evil's rampage inside the explosively fragmenting Collective West.

Example one — United Kingdom

This blurb (of many-many similar ones) illustrates the United Kingdom's — 'Let's destroy ourselves with cowardly softness' — principle:

A convicted pedophile has escaped deportation from the UK to his native country of Pakistan after a judge ruled that he would face “inhuman or degrading treatment” there for being an alcoholic.

The man was released from prison after serving sentences for sex offences, but was subsequently charged again after assaulting a teenage girl.

The Home Office issued a deportation order, however, the guy successfully appealed it using the European Convention on Human Rights whilst serving another one year sentence in prison.

His legal representatives argued that without proper treatment for his addiction in Pakistan, his “uncontrollable” alcoholism could worsen and potentially lead to “further suffering.”

Respondents on X expressed disbelief at the UK justice system, with many pointing out that there are people currently serving longer prison sentences for spicy tweets.

Example two — United States

The following sample (also hoisted from an unbroken stream of similar ones) illustrates the competing — 'Nobody has any rights at all' — Fascist US principle:

On 5 March, Chung – a 21-year-old student at Columbia University – attended a sit-in to protest the expulsion of several students involved in pro-Palestinian activism at the famed New York university.

Four days later, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (Ice) agents showed up at her parents’ home.

When they couldn’t find her there, Ice sought help from federal prosecutors and searched her dormitory – using a warrant that cited a criminal law against “harboring noncitizens”.

They revoked her green card and accused her of posing a threat to US foreign policy interests.

On Monday, Chung sued Donald Trump and other high-ranking administrations to stop their targeting of her and other students.

And on Tuesday, a federal judge ordered the Trump administration to halt its efforts to arrest and deport Chung, saying “nothing in the record” indicated that Chung posed a danger to the community.

Her location remains undisclosed, and Chung herself has remained shielded – for her own protection – from the public.

But she has nonetheless made a powerful statement, by raising a simple question:

[I]f the administration can arbitrarily and unilaterally threaten immigrants over political views they disagree with, if it can disregard the free speech rights of lawful permanent residents – what limits, if any, remain on its power?

Note that:

Chung moved to the US from South Korea when she was seven, and has lived in the country ever since.

She was a valedictorian in high school; at Columbia, she had contributed to a literary magazine and an undergraduate law journal.

She has maintained a 3.99 GPA and interned with a number of legal non-profits including the Innocence Project.

Not exactly an alcoholic pedophile, now is she?

Completely lost is Institutional America's recall about the exemplary nobility of the US Constitution's Bill of Rights.

The moral? — Our once impressive Anglo-Saxon legal heritage . . .

. . . is being obliterated from both left and right political extremes.

Like holding guns to each of the skull's temples.

Once the ability to contemplate and control self-destructive impulses is lost, what comes next?

The momentum of the West's mental and moral disintegration has been astonishing. Competing psychoses are devouring our ability to reason on morally sound bases.

Purported 'Western Civilization' has literally gone suicidally crazy.
