Can you think of a better symbol — of the worthlessness of US leadership — than Senator Tom Cotton?

A moron on all counts?

After Nazi-reincarnated Zion blew up a press building that housed offices for Al Jazeera and the AP in Gaza — ostensibly on the premise that Hamas was operating from it — US Senator Tom Cotton plucked the following from his congressionally seated behind:

"Why is the Associated Press sharing a building with Hamas?" Cotton asked on Monday.

"Surely these intrepid reporters knew who their neighbors were."

"I submit that the AP has some uncomfortable questions to answer, yet the AP and its fellow journalists are in high dudgeon about Israel’s wholly appropriate airstrike," Cotton said.

"Leave it to whiny reporters to make themselves the story and the victim when terrorists are shooting missiles at innocent civilians."

That depth of moron-i-tude . . .

. . .  is so typical of American Leadership that Cotton could become the statue that symbolizes Brain Void on the National Mall.

'We the Sheep' could make annual pilgrimages to worship at its golden base.

Where to begin?

First, Senator Cotton accepts Israel's claim that Hamas was in the building, but without seeing any evidence in that claim's support.

Second, he blanketly assumes that Israel was not trying to make coverage of its war crimes in Gaza more difficult.

Third, Cotton ignores the fact that had Hamas been in the building doing bad things, Israel would have blown it up — without dispensing any warnings.

After all, 'CottonHead' Tom, why would Mighty Zion let currently active terrorists escape its deadly grip?

Answer — They wouldn't, if historically recorded consistency be any guide.

Fourth, why should AP abandon a perfectly good press building, just because bits of Hamas might be in it?

Hamas is all over Gaza.

Why should AP abandon the place, when part of its press job is to cover exactly this geography and the people in it?

Fifth, why does Hamas constitute the 'terrorists' in this episode — when it was Israel that began this most recent spate of violent events by trying to forcibly eject Palestinians from their homes in East Jerusalem and from the Al-Aqsa Mosque?

Senator CottonHead got everything backwards

One can only do such on purpose. Or, alternatively, because one is dumber and more gullible than anally dispensed stool

This kind of unpuncturable, uneducable stupidity characterizes American leadership, generally.

As Marwan Bishara wrote recently:

Why is the Biden administration doing Netanyahu’s dirty bidding, instead of helping to reach a similar agreement in Palestine?

Netanyahu’s answer is simple: “America is a thing you can move very easily, move it in the right direction.” This is what he said in 2001, while assuring Israeli settlers that Israel could destroy the Palestinian Authority and continue with illegal settlement building, regardless of the US position.

In his view, America is gullible, and in the rare case when its government plays hardball, Israel can deploy its influential lobby to whip it into submission.

Netanyahu’s views reflect a general “disdain” among Israelis for Americans, whom they reckon are “inherently dupable people”, according to a report in the Jewish American publication, The Forward.

Over the years, the US has provided Israel with close to $150bn in direct assistance only, and in return they are rewarded with insult, for Israelis basically think the Americans, who long showered them with money and weapons, are suckers.

Exactly.

The moral? — With walking brain-dead controlling Congress . . .

. . . and the Executive Branch — the American Imperium is rapidly crumbling. Just as Chris Hedges has prophesied — or prognosticated — depending upon one's assessment of the arguable spiritual core of these events.

God help us all.

Violent Stupidity's blob has rolled down the hill to finally crush Sisyphus.
