Spread of coronavirus shows how poorly US government does genuine national security

If there is no money in it for plutocrats, why have Government do it?
That's our national motto.
American unpreparedness for the COVID-19 pandemic is representative.
Consider genuine national security
(1) One would think that building an epidemic-resisting medical and national health defense structure — in this age of easily spawned biological weapons and zoonotics — would have been a US defense priority.
Our lame response to COVID-19 — meaning no masks, virtually no test kits, no plans, no meds, no training and essentially no preparation whatsoever — says not.
In mild contrast — Singapore, South Korea and even China.
(2) One would also hypothesize that that American Government would have recognized that ensuring that the United States did not become dependent upon China (or India, or any other nation) for:
manufactured parts
including for military weapons
and indeed
basic manufacturing in most of its entirety
as well as
and
and
(on a raw materials scale)
rare earths . . .
. . . would all have been a towering must-dos.
Which is part of the reason I began this website many years ago.
The moral? — American leadership does not, and has not, meaningfully cared about the foundational basics of "national security" for many decades
American federal government, at its core, is essentially about making easy money for Corporations and Fat Cats.
We the Rabble fit nowhere into the presumed Social Contract.
What "contract" there is, exists only for elites — who have socialized American Government to their looting benefit.
When things go bad, these "dripping rich" can always withdraw into their walled and guarded estates. Using parasitized wealth to buy up services unavailable to anyone else.
With COVID-19's representative demonstration of these most basic aspects of American culture, it is time the American public woke up.
Unless we'all are happy to continue being perpetually pillaged and healthcare-oppressed sheep.
