Ridiculous theater — the American response to the Saudis' presumed murder of Jamal Khashoggi

Another display of stout American morality?
American business leaders have not been at all concerned about the American-supported Saudis' murder of children and forced famine of tens of thousands in Yemen.
Yet in contrast, one admirable dissident apparently gets killed in the Saudi consulate in Istanbul — and some American business heads decide to pretend censure by not attending a Saudi investment meeting in late October.
The moral? — Could our (allegedly "civilized") society get more revealingly idiotic than this?
Leadership's dissembling reaction to the Jamal Khashoggi "incident" — is a tell-all metaphor for the United States' historically sustained lack of ethical proportion.
