Recognize how destructively ridiculous — elected American leadership has become

Government shutdown — is the antithesis of intelligent governance
Obvious baseline essentials like:
the TSA,
air traffic control,
possibly the Coast Guard
and much of science —
are not being paid.
But the Fat Cats in Congress and the Presidency are.
Keeping government running . . .
. . . is national leadership's simplest and most basic job.
Yet, like quarrelsome two year olds, these quantifiably useless and privileged folk repeatedly fail to do it.
The moral? — The United States is over, except as a playground for parasites
I suppose there's some merit in that. From some perspectives.
Most of us do want to become blood-suckers. That's what unregulated capitalism is all about, isn't it?
Keep drinking the Kool-Aid. And hope that:
business class doesn't explode —
when an unpaid TSA perimeter misses a nasty device
or
a depleted ATC staff falls asleep on the job
or
the Coast Guard isn't there to fish y'all out of the crash water.
It is as if the United States' (admittedly impressive) supplies of vacuous irresponsibility and brawny stupidity flowed to the top at the same time.
