Petty-minded stupidity on both sides — US flag to be left at half-staff, during the Trump inauguration

Quarreling dopes?
The following news blurb reveals the Biden administration's pool of vicious stupidity — as well as the incoming Trump administration's constant whining about things that don't much matter:
President-elect Donald Trump lashed out Friday over plans for the U.S. flag to be flown at half-staff during his upcoming inauguration to honor the late President Jimmy Carter ‒ but the White House said it isn't reconsidering the order.
U.S. flags have been flying at half-staff at all federal properties including the Capitol since Dec. 29, when President Joe Biden ordered the measure of respect following Carter's death for 30 days ‒ the prescribed federal timeframe for lowering flags after a president's death since 1954.
Trump will be sworn in as the 47th president on Jan. 20, which falls within the 30-day window.
"The Democrats are all 'giddy' about our magnificent American Flag potentially being at 'half mast' during my Inauguration," Trump said in a post on Truth Social, incorrectly using the term that refers to flags being flown halfway up the mast on a ship, not a flag pole.
"They think it’s so great, and are so happy about it because, in actuality, they don’t love our Country, they only think about themselves."

Think about this
From a common sense perspective, one can certainly see that raising inauguration day flags back to full staff might make some sense with regard to the nation's overall psychic welfare.
Symbolically speaking, the incoming president should be seen as taking precedence over commemorating the death of a previous one.
On the other hand, given the Biden administration's ostensibly recalcitrant position, president-elect Trump could have the flag raised to full staff, the very minute that he is inaugurated. Have a loyal section of previously prepared Capitol Police do this.
And the following day — as a sign of respect, as well as of the new president's graciousness — have those flags re-lowered to half-staff until 28 January 2025.
Such a television-broadcast rejection of the previous administration's small-minded foolishness would visibly manifest the symbolic transition of power into purportedly more capable hands.
In short
Trump could turn this silly and unnecessary quarrel into an opportunity to advertise his purported 'draining of the swamp'.
Rather than simply indulging his characteristic blowhard-whining.
The moral — Act virtuously and don't yap so much
Good leaders are defined by what they do. Not by unending streams of small-minded, conceited and consistently divisive blather.
Based on Trump's post-election signals, I suspect that this second Trump era is going to be just as bad as the Dead-Brain Biden ordeal has been.
