Facebook made a few noteworthy changes to its misinformation policies this week, including the news that the company will now allow claims that COVID was created by humans — a theory that contradicts the previously prevailing assumption that humans picked up the virus naturally from animals.

"In light of ongoing investigations into the origin of COVID-19 and in consultation with public health experts, we will no longer remove the claim that COVID-19 is man-made from our apps," a Facebook spokesperson told TechCrunch.

"We’re continuing to work with health experts to keep pace with the evolving nature of the pandemic and regularly update our policies as new facts and trends emerge."

Notice the "allow"

Y'all can't say or think anything that Big Whatever does not approve of.

Experts?

You mean all the folks, who were preposterously unprepared for the entirely predictable SARS-CoV-2 pandemic and still refuse to do anything to investigate its true (as opposed to made up) epidemiology?

Including all the COVID Maoists, who squashed huge swaths of the United States' small business economy with lockdowns based upon no persuasive evidence and — worse — no attempts (over time) to measure the appropriateness of their allegedly "emergency" responses?

Or 'them' guys, who basically banned hydroxychloroquine and ivermectin for treating early COVID-19 illness because they wanted to protect Big Pharma profits, while hundreds of thousands of Americans died?

The moral? — It does not require mental genius to recognize . . .

. . . what a bunch of malevolently incompetent louts run the United States and its Big Tech arm.

Those power-monopolizing folks could not reason their way out of — or into — an open science or medicine bag.

Yet, most of us act as if what they have to say is both important and legitimately directing.

Continuing with my 'bag' metaphor, the slang word 'douche' comes to mind. We are increasingly enslaved by a bunch of power-grabbing douches. Makes me wonder about the future of the purportedly American subspecies.
