Lies about employment gains — if good news is missing — we just make it up

Should President Trump be getting credit for employment upticks?

Supposedly the economy is booming along better than ever under President Trump.

201,000 new job spots reportedly created in August.

Yaay?

Not exactly.

Lots of people, evidently, cannot read

If you go to the Bureau of Labor Statistics — 07 September 2018 report — you see that:

469,000 fewer people were in the labor force from July to August 2018

(look at the line entitled "civilian labor force")

423,000 fewer jobs existed during the same month

(look at the line labeled "employed")

692,000 people left the laboring group during those 31 days

(look at the line called "not in labor force")

and

1,531,000 fewer people were working in Aug 2018 than had been one year before

(subtract the 2018 Aug number from the 2017 Aug number in the "not in labor force" line)

The only reasonable interpretation of these numbers — is that

We have way fewer people in the laboring group. And way fewer people employed.

By whose strange logic is that an improvement?

The moral? — Government's front people just "make shit up"

The Lamestream parrots whatever that is. Even if the more likely truth is only a finger tap or mouse click away.
