Incompetence takes us with it — Fukushima's radioactive water to be dumped into Pacific

Japan is not exactly an embodiment of competence and honor
And their killing dreck (like ours) continues sliding downhill into other people's lives.
To wit:
Japan plans to release into the sea more than 1 million tonnes of contaminated water from the destroyed Fukushima nuclear station, the government said on Tuesday.
China's foreign ministry on Tuesday criticised the Japanese government's decision, calling it "extremely irresponsible".
In a statement on the ministry's website, a spokesman said Japan should refrain from initiating the discharge until it has consulted and reached agreement with all stakeholder countries and the International Atomic Energy Agency.
China reserves the right to respond further to the release of contaminated water, the spokesman said in the statement.
The move, more than a decade after the nuclear disaster, will deal another blow to the fishing industry in Fukushima, which has opposed such a step for years.
The work to release the water will begin in about two years, the government said, and the whole process is expected to take decades.

You may recall that . . .
. . . Japan's institutionalized greed and incompetence (like its American model) caused the Fukushima reactors problem in the first place.
Quoting myself from the time of the Fukushima Daichi nuclear disaster in March 2011:
Tokyo Electric Power Company built Fukushima Daiichi to house six reactors in a powerful earthquake zone, where they (and their diesel back-up cooling pumps) were foreseeably subject to tsunami impacts.
The plant’s design also continued to use what were known to be unsafely positioned spent-fuel cooling pools.
So, the aftermath of that past avarice-based stupidity is this new one . . .
. . . comprised of intentionally polluting the Pacific Ocean with Fukushima's radioactive waste.
All this, from beginning to end, just so that TEPCO could make a buck and Japanese regulators could stay ensconced in their Establishment-perfumed closets.
If you see visions of the American Paradigm in all this, you would be correct.
The moral? — Humanity's greed, indiscipline and lack of foresight should kill Homo sapiens off
That very nasty animal, hopefully lost to Geological Time's arrow.
