Ideological nutsness is gobbling America to death — Rod Dreher responds

Who would'a thunk it?
Leftist (quasi-anarcho-syndicalist) me is being driven American 'conservative' — by the deluge of 'liberal'-sponsored insanity across the United States.
Might we conclude that, under the growing threat of institutionally-sponsored — labor, re-education and extermination — camps, we find our true political colors?
Sadly — (an aside)
One of elderly life's many penalties is finding out that the Human Condition is hopeless, exactly because silly and impulsive human beings occupy and control it.
Today — 'conservative' Rod Dreher's on-point rant
I gave Mr. Dreher some flack a few days ago for combining irrationality with a disregard for facts, regarding the Daunte Wright manslaughter-by-cop shooting.
Today, however, I have to cite Mr. Dreher for saying something important and true:
I . . . utterly do not share the sense . . . that the system is basically okay, and the country is basically okay. Neither did I share the view that Donald Trump was any kind of solution.
[W]e conservatives hurt ourselves by falling for loudmouth grifters who are good at being performative, but don’t actually get anything done.
The fact that Donald Trump was no kind of realistic solution does not mean that the conditions that led to his rise are false, or that the Republicans who see things apocalyptically are wrong.
I too would have been one of the 51 percent of conservatives . . . who said that politics is primarily about “ensuring the survival of the country,” though I emphatically do not believe the threat to us comes from terrorists, criminals, and illegal immigrants.
The threat to us comes primarily from the elite leadership class in government, academia, corporate America, media, and other institutions.
We are living in a country whose elites are teaching us to see each other primarily on the basis of race, and to hate each other for it.
The elite leadership class is jamming this neoracist ideology down everybody’s throat at every turn.

Dreher goes on
The United States is suiciding itself this way, as reported by Fox News:
The Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) is moving to eliminate all accelerated math options prior to 11th grade, effectively keeping higher-achieving students from advancing as they usually would in the school system.
Loudoun County school board member Ian Serotkin posted about the change via Facebook on Tuesday.
"[A]s currently planned, this initiative will eliminate ALL math acceleration prior to 11th grade," he said.
[VDOE's website] states various goals like "[i]mprove equity in mathematics learning opportunities," "[e]mpower students to be active participants in a quantitative world," and "[i]dentify K-12 mathematics pathways that support future success."
[A] member of the "essential concepts" committee claimed that the new framework would exclude traditional classes like Algebra 1 and Geometry.
A Loudoun parent who spoke on the condition of anonymity worried that the changes would "lower standards for all students in the name of equity."

This government-forced escalation of American dumbness . . .
. . . is taking place at a time when the United States' competitors have long been outperforming us educationally.
If, for instance, one were to tell China that 'equity' must outweigh competence, talent and work — 1.4 billion Chinese would laugh.
Here in Ahmuhrika, in contrast, we have chosen to race to the non-ability's bottomish rung in Forced Equality's name.
Somehow, American equity ideology has become more communist than communism.
The moral? — in Mr. Dreher's words . . .
. . . is this:
I hear all the time from college students telling me about how afraid they are to say what’s on their mind in their classes, for fear of being failed by their professors, or attacked by a mob of students.
This week we saw a white police officer shoot to death a black teenage girl who was in the process of trying to stab another black female.
He saved the life of a black woman — and for that, he was denounced by the usual suspects as a racist killer . . . [by] one of the richest and most powerful athletes in the country, LeBron James . . . .
In the name of this utopian ideology, we are destroying our schools, and we are destroying the ability of the police to maintain law and order.

I think the problem goes further than Mr. Dreher does:
What we are seeing is an overt attack on Facts and Reality by an ideology that knowingly lacks both — but does not care.
There is money and mob-adhesion to be made and gained.
Mobs never go anywhere wise. We all know this. Seemingly these days, few Americans care.
That is why US 'conservatives' despair. And even quasi-anarcho-syndicalists like me.
We can chat about this — together, you and I — in the coming reeducation-labor camps.
Bring your tattered wool cloak and some gruel. You will need both.
