Corporate media fawn over vacuous Beto O'Rourke — to the detriment of candidates with arguable substance

I wonder how former Representative Beto O'Rourke . . .
. . . that platitudinous marshmallow, came into prominence.
About this, Natasha Korecki lamented that:
While the 2018 midterm elections set the stage for women making historic gains in Congress — and last month marked another groundbreaking moment when five female officeholders joined the presidential race — no woman on the Democratic side received the kind of wall-to-wall coverage O’Rourke received.

The same kind of propagandized media stupidity . . .
. . . marked O'Rourke's 2018 midterm campaign against sitting Texas senator, Ted Cruz.
O'Rourke bought and received heaps of attention. But nothing realistic or substantive came out of him.
I wondered what all the fuss was about. Was this "can't we all happily get along" nonentity really going to beat hardboiled Ted?
He didn't.
That says something.
Tell me why
Given his loss to Senator Cruz, why would anyone think that O'Rourke could beat someone like President Trump — who continues to hold a staunchly loyal (probable) electoral majority, even today?
I do not think that Beto's platitudes are going to combat well against the President's gift for concisely delivered ridicule.
Even if O'Rourke were miraculously elected president, the Deep State and Military Industrial Complex would devour him. Even more easily than they swallowed Donald Trump.
William Astore said of Beto O:
A millionaire who married a woman who will apparently inherit billions, Beto showed up in Iowa speaking in platitudes about the wonders of democracy in the USA.
His only firm principle is that he believes he deserves to be in the race, perhaps because he looks a little like a Kennedy if you squint really hard.

The moral? — The corporate propaganda machine is trying to pick another Democratic Party loser for 2020
Just as they did former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
She was — way-way-way — smarter and more qualified for presidential office, than Beto is or could be. Even on his — very-very-very — best day, ever.
American "Orwellian" continues.
