The violently thrashing, headless chicken — that is the United States — is symbolized by Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer's anticipated "pot bill"

An instance in which metaphor says it all?
While the United States happily speeds itself toward becoming even more violently fascistic — Senate Minority Leader (Democrat) Chuck Schumer is reportedly working on a legislative bill to federally legalize marijuana use:
Back on April 19th, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer shocked the political world when he announced he was introducing his own bill to decriminalize marijuana at the federal level.
Rolling Stone asked Schumer when we could expect his long-awaited bill.
"It will be introduced shortly," he said briskly, before dismissively moving on to other reporter's questions.

Apparently, Senator Schumer's political benevolence wants to make it possible for our plethora of — pathetically inconsequential — "liberals" to smoke away both mind and troubles.
Perspective?
Take just two illustrative avenues of inquiry:
First, President Trump's started an international trade war completely on his own (stolen) authority.
Second, Justice Kennedy will retire from the Supreme Court in July, leaving a vacancy for yet another representative of Monarchy, Dictatorship and Plutocratic Non-Abundance to fill.
Of the second, Ezra Klein suggested (in effect) that Democrats — meaning pretend liberals — had that result coming. Here loosely synopsized:
Not only had they allowed Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell to stall then President Obama's pick for the deceased Justice Scalia's seat — which later went to the Legal Stone Age's Neil Gorsuch — (courtesy of newly elected President Trump) —
but
Democrats had also complacently not voted in the 2014 mid-term elections — which conceivably might have turned the Senate against Senator McConnell's herd of totalitarian-inclined sheep.
Schumer's answer to all this?
Smoke dope.
The moral? — Democratic Party leadership is just as vapidly lazy as the Anti-Christers say that it is
If forced to choose between comatose potheads and larcenous plutocrats, I may choose the latter.
Just on Diligence's principle.
The choice is mildly similar to flushed turds discussing what they are going to do at the sewage treatment plant.
