The public will be able to watch the execution of a former US Army major by firing squad, US Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth has said.

 

A Defense Department official told the BBC the execution of Nidal Hasan, who shot dead 13 unarmed US soldiers at Fort Hood in 2009, would be livestreamed.

 

It is believed it would be the first public execution in the US in almost a century.

 

The decision to livestream it is "unprecedented in the modern era" and "on uncertain legal terrain," said John Mills, a lawyer who works with inmates sentenced to death.

The Islamic militant group ISIS cut off the head of an American journalist in a video made public Tuesday — following through on a threat it made when it beheaded another American two weeks ago and vowed to keep killing unless the United States stopped airstrikes.

 

The journalist, Steven Joel Sotloff, was beheaded in a video made public by SITE Intel Group, which monitors jihadist organizations. The video surfaced days after Sotloff’s mother pleaded with the leader of ISIS for mercy.

 

ISIS beheaded another American journalist, James Foley, in a video released Aug. 19 and threatened to kill Sotloff unless President Barack Obama ended the airstrikes, which have pummeled ISIS targets in Iraq for four weeks.

Many Americans claimed that these beheadings justified Islam's extermination.

 

 

Let's do some morality math

 

At the time of ISIS' actions, it was arguably defending Islamic lands against illegal bombings and drone attacks by the geographically expanding American Imperium.

 

ISIS indulged itself by adopting a peculiarly barbaric form of self-defense. A form of vengeance that took essentially the same form, as America's World War 2 serial bombings of hundreds of thousands of innocent German and Japanese civilians.

 

Yet today (unlike ISIS and Islam) the United States is defending itself against literally zero substantive threats.

 

Yet nevertheless, America has decided to emulate ISIS' visibly brutal beheading immorality by doing a similarly soul-offending thing for rationally unpersuasive legal, moral and teaching reasons.

 

We kill because the Imperium can. Not because it must.

 

 

The moral? — How is broadcasting an American firing squad's . . .

 

. . . execution of murderer Nidal Hassan different in teaching principle, than the vicious ISIS beheadings?

 

America — which is still enthusiastically genociding Palestinians, as well as mass murdering Iranians — has become World History's most obscenely Satanic spectacle.
