Another brilliant NATO result?
From Bloomberg:
Turkey has formally asked to join the BRICS group of emerging-market nations as it seeks to bolster its global influence and forge new ties beyond its traditional Western allies, according to people familiar with the matter.
The view of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s administration is that the geopolitical center of gravity is shifting away from developed economies, according to the people, who spoke on condition of anonymity because they aren’t authorized to comment.
The country’s new diplomatic push reflects its aspirations to cultivate ties with all sides in a multipolar world, while still fulfilling its obligations as a key member of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, they said.

Realistically speaking
Despite the ever-conniving Erdogan's scheming, it seems unlikely that a membership in both NATO and the Russia-China-dominated BRICS can be sustained.
Ergo eventually, 'bye-bye NATO' (from Turkey).
This likely coming alliance shift . . .
. . . kind'a ranks up there with US neocons' (oh-so-brilliant) scheme to force Russia and China together by perennially attacking both.
The moral? — The West is run by avarice-addicted idiots
Sadly, the West's mind-controlled population of sheep will (foreseeably) compliantly bleat their accordance to being snuffed out from History's more admirably capable ranks of humans.
Thus (arguably) becoming, a declined Western civilization crushed by its own pampered irrelevance to anything morally and cognitively worthwhile.
