Islamic State is — we are told — threatening the US-botched evacuation of Afghanistan

American leadership (again) scuttles away from accountability
Leave it to the American Deep State to, instantly, roll out its Barking Propaganda Dog.
As the world watched the US military screw up what should have been a workable evacuation of Americans from Afghanistan — the following occurred:
Potential Islamic State threats against Americans in Afghanistan are forcing the U.S. military to develop new ways to get evacuees to the airport in Kabul, a senior U.S. official said Saturday, adding a new complication to the already chaotic efforts to get people out of the country after its swift fall to the Taliban.
The changes come as the U.S. Embassy issued a new security warning Saturday telling citizens not to travel to the Kabul airport without individual instruction from a U.S. government representative.
Officials declined to provide more specifics about the IS threat but described it as significant and said there have been no confirmed attacks as yet.

Yes, kids
The Islamic State is conveniently back as World Bogeyman. But — unfortunately in a world in which the absence of evidence serves as its presence — that unverified and frankly not-believable information is classified.
These Islamic State guys have been, we must infer, invisibly hiding under Afghanistan's arid landscape.
Who knew?
Somehow magically — and since just yesterday — Afghanistan's homegrown and victorious Taliban have faded from American Leadership's tactical and strategic view.
Instead, the evil monsters at ISIS are back.
And implicitly, they are again threatening to wrench the civilized world, including Afghanistan, from the American Imperium's holy grasp.
Horrors.
This . . .
. . . we are implicitly encouraged to deduce, explains everything.
Certainly, the Afghanistan Withdrawal Botch could not possibly be the American Imperium's fault.
In place of that eminently reasonable interpretation of what we have seen for twenty years, we are now encouraged to believe that the — apparently omnipresent — Islamic State are the devils, who are actually responsible for American bone-headedness.
The moral? — This laughable level of buck-passing . . .
. . . would embarrass anyone with an ounce of integrity.
The obviously posed question is:
How did the Islamic State
suddenly make it back into Afghanistan
in enough force
and
so completely undetected
as to threaten anyone —
when the regionally aspiring Taliban
(now in virtually complete control of the entire nation and obviously reluctant to give the US another excuse to return)
cannot?
The responsibility-evading absurdity of American leadership's Islamic State claim should boggle reasonable minds.
The obvious propaganda goal is to foster a fear-based, public willingness to return US troops to Afghanistan.
While simultaneously (and oh-so-happily) evading accountability for having so screwed up that country — and any associated form of sensibly implemented geopolitical strategy — for twenty years.
American leadership, we can conclude, will miss no opportunity to absolve itself from being accountable for anything.
It is always someone else's fault. Even when we repeatedly (and without exception) have to invent the blamed culprits.
