FDA Commissioner Robert Califf — professionally dishonorable

The Lying Sack of Shit award?
Robert Califf, who heads the FDA, tweeted the following — my comments in bracketed italics:
Being vaccinated and boosted reduces your risk of dying or getting critically ill and going to the hospital.
[Evidentiarily speaking, this is true for many people.]
The updated booster also increases your chances of being in attendance at upcoming gatherings with family and friends.
[No evidence, anywhere, exists in support of that statement.]
A professionally aware and conscientious person . . .
. . . in Califf's very visible FDA position would not have undercut the agency's reputation with such an obvious attempt to make 'shit' up.
Sadly, such casually indulged blowharding is not new.
The FDA has long been an empire of Big Pharma sales stooges. We might as well rename the agency, the Federal Department of Ass-Quackery.
Worse, the COVID era has been dominated by American public health's uninterrupted penchant for lies, distortions, methodologically bad science and sheer carelessness.
As well as by public health's astonishing refusal to properly investigate virtually everything that it touches or speaks about.
The moral? — Califf, the FDA and US public health (generally) are . . .
. . . embarrassments to legitimate American medicine.
This says something ethically painful about the nature of our culture, doesn't it?
