Europe's whiny-girl pettiness shows up again — 16th round of anti-Russia sanctions

Effete warmongering

Consider the European Union's latest (16th round) of anti-Russia sanctions:

Official Journal of the European Union, Council Implementing Regulation 2025/389 of 24 February 2025 — implementing Regulation (EU) No 269/2014 concerning restrictive measures in respect of actions undermining or threatening the territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of Ukraine, https://eur-lex.europa.eu/legal-content/EN/TXT/PDF/?uri=OJ:L_202500389 (24 February 2025)

RT commented the following way . . .

. . . my bracketed additions therein cite to story-confirming pages inside the EU's sanctions document:

Sergey Karjakin [at page 7] and Nikita Nagorny [at page 25] were included in the 16th package of sanctions against Russia by the European Union.

The former contender for the world chess crown was included in the list for publishing an open letter to the country's president Vladimir Putin in support of the SVO, repeated trips to new regions and collecting aid for the military.

"He is responsible for using his influence to spread pro-Russian propaganda and disinformation," the document says.

As for the Olympic champion in artistic gymnastics, he is allegedly involved in transporting Ukrainian children to Russia. They also recalled how Nagorny offered to send gifts to Russian servicemen.

“By assuming such a role and acting in this capacity, he supports and implements actions or policies that damage and pose a threat to the territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of Ukraine,” the text notes.

In Russia, the decision on Karyakin and Nagorny has caused bewilderment.

Dmitry Svishchev, Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Physical Culture and Sports, admitted that the actions of the Old World states "defy all logic."

"You see, they are already thinking about who else to include in the sanctions list, and they decided to include athletes.

"Yes, Karyakin and Nagorny began to engage in social and political activities, but first of all, these are athletes who defended the interests of their country, as well as the flag, school and coaches," R-Sport quotes Svischev as saying.

A chess master and a gymnast?

How petty can the West get?

The moral? — Where mighty Vikings once roamed . . .

. . . and Germanic barbarians fought off the Roman Empire — we now have populations of self-righteously warmongering Euro-Pussies. All too cowardly to directly join the fights they continually provoke.

Western Europe has devolved into a nauseating agglomeration of prissy warmongers.

The rest of us increasingly think of these hectoring wimps as a leprotic form of vomit to be avoided.
