Democrats regularly insist on shooting themselves in both feet — consider their Convention and Platform

The Democratic Party has (arguably) already made three strategic election errors
Too overwhelming an emphasis on narrowly focused (pie in the sky diversity), during their nominating Convention.
Proportionately too little Convention attention paid to working class, particularly white working class, problems.
And the Platform's self-killing stance against assault rifles and high capacity magazines:
[W]e will expand and strengthen background checks and close dangerous loopholes in our current laws;
repeal the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act . . . to revoke the dangerous legal immunity protections gun makers and sellers now enjoy;
and keep weapons of war—such as assault weapons and large capacity ammunition magazines . . . off our streets.

In short
Democrats always find a way to earn their hapless Fake Party of Opposition credentials.
They offend the country's heartland, whenever possible.
Their platform's gun stance is typical of this:
First, they accuse President Trump of wanting to become Emperor and enslave all of us.
Then, they propose taking away ordinary Americans' best means of resisting exactly that.
Recall that gun people, for the most part, are single issue voters
There are millions and millions of them.
Why would Democrats try to rebound from their 2016 election loss by intentionally screwing with the same outraged, predominantly white voters — again?
And doing so, especially, on an Electoral College map that already gives these self-defensively minded weapons people a greater say in presidential elections — than the anti-gun folk that the Democratic Party is trying to cater to?
The moral? — Are Democrats ineffectual, porridge-brained, drunk-stumbling fools by choice?
Knowing how to fight successfully seems not to be in their genes.
I doubt that even Robert Reich's "fighting Kamala" will be able to turn this tide of lame-brained self-destruction.
And the Party's parade of disaffected, neocon Republicans (in its election support) is merely going to remind its "progressive" side what a terrible deal — with the metaphorical Devil — they have made.
Yet more votes lost.
At this rate, President Trump increases his chances of winning another term, in what should have been a very difficult situation for him.
Do not underestimate Trump's genius for disemboweling his opponents with pithy, funny and always memorable characterizations.
He's going to flay the Democratic Party errors that I've outlined.
Stupidity's Vast Cosmic Hand has again infected the Democratic Party's self-alleged smarts.
The Party's behavior is like removing one tank track, before trying to roll the machine into battle.
Who does that?
