COVID's stupidity fit — ain't learned nothin' — nohow

Institutionalized stupidity fascinates me
It is as if we know that we are pointing a loaded gun at our heads and insist on pulling the trigger anyway.
This suicidal impulse is clearly revealed in the West's provocation of, and self-annihilating follow-up, to the Russo-Ukrainian War.
Additionally, our societal death wish was and remains obvious in our completely untested and society-withering responses to COVID-19.
Yet despite these two massively clearcut revelations of Nihilism Unchained — ain't nobody learned nothin'.
See, for example, Vinay Prasad's withering and unerring take-down of the West's COVID Era Self-Murder Pact and that essay's complete lack of coverage in the Western press:
Vinay Prasad, A checklist for COVID policy — How to know someone's brain is working, vinayprasadmdmph.substack.com (28 June 2022)
Truth-tellers are always our first sacrifice to Greedy Parasitism's institutionalized inertia.
Where is the core societal problem — which explains our self-deadly placidity?
My guess is that abysmally ignorant and memory-losing populations — of horizon-to-horizon herds of metaphorically cud-chewing sheep — are the chief cause of the societally shared inability to learn anything (at all) from even the most massively painful of events.
Sheep, after all, are too stupid to recognize that they are being both fleeced and muttonized at someone else's parasitic whim.
And wool-on-feets (so to speak) are also too cowardly a human species to grab some of their tormenters and swing them, airlessly, from the highest guillotine-gallows. To craft an ultra-mangled metaphor. Whose visual intensity does my figuratively vengeance-prone and survival-oriented heart (some spiritually sly) good.
The moral? — Abandon all hope, ye who enter here
We remain in the American autocracy's Robber Baron clutches.
Have a nice day. And do talk to one of your actually sensible neighbors.
From these ashes, perhaps the Non-Mutton Phoenix shall spring.
