Embracing rot?

America's sweet stench, wafted high:

Joe Biden pardoned his son Hunter Sunday night, a reversal for the president, who repeatedly said he would not use his executive authority to pardon his son or commute his sentence.

"I believe in the justice system, but as I have wrestled with this, I also believe raw politics has infected this process and it led to a miscarriage of justice — and once I made this decision this weekend, there was no sense in delaying it further. I hope Americans will understand why a father and a President would come to this decision," Biden said in his statement.

Hunter Biden was scheduled to be sentenced on Dec. 12 for his conviction on federal gun charges. He also was set to be sentenced on Dec. 16 in a separate criminal case in which he pleaded guilty to federal tax evasion charges in September.

Of course, Hunter reportedly probably did a whole lot more illegal things than just those offenses. But, admittedly, his criminal behaviors came nowhere close to his presidential father's combined mass murder exercises.

What's a bit of corruption here and there, when we can indulge metaphorical oceans of it, as a matter of permanently embedded national policy?

The moral? — Objective observers might conclude that . . .

. . . American government is the foremost criminal system in the world.

Extortion, murder and graft are, arguably, the very foundations of the US system of governance, as practiced.

By way of continuing example — president-elect Trump just sky-emblazoned the United States' customary resort to imposing mass economic sanctions, as punishment for other nations' attempts to pursue their own national interests:

President-elect Donald Trump said he would require countries that are part of BRICS — a China- and Russia-backed group of emerging economies — to commit to not creating new currency or face 100% tariffs during his administration.

“The idea that the BRICS Countries are trying to move away from the Dollar while we stand by and watch is OVER.

"We require a commitment from these Countries that they will neither create a new BRICS Currency, nor back any other Currency to replace the mighty U.S. Dollar or, they will face 100% Tariffs, and should expect to say goodbye to selling into the wonderful U.S. Economy,” Trump posted on Truth Social on Saturday afternoon.

Trump, thereby, added momentum to the existing international surge against the dollar, which the Biden administration so handily provoked by attacking other countries' ability to engage in financial transactions that displeased our enslavement-oriented Oligarchs.

Not only do we act criminally.

We do so in self-destructively moronic fashion.

Oh, the joy.
