Army slaps retired Lieutenant General down — for publicly exhibiting a slicing sense of pertinent humor

Mind control . . .

. . . requires the elimination of intelligently delivered wit.

For example

First Lady Jill Biden tweeted the following about the US Supreme Court's recent (Roe v. Wade abortion-squashing) Dobbs decision:

For nearly 50 years, women have had the right to make our own decisions about our bodies.

Today, that right was stolen from us.

And while we may be devastated by this injustice, we will not be silent. We will not sit back as the progress we have already won slips away.

Naturally, someone (not stupid) had something to say in response

Given that the Biden Presidency has maintained that anyone can be a woman — retired Army Lieutenant General — Gary Volesky — slung some intelligent snark back at the President's (happily still mind-functioning) wife by observing that:

Glad to see you finally know what a woman is.

Had it been me doing the tweeting . . .

I would have replaced Volesky's 'you' with a 'we'.

Thereby depersonalizing Volesky's pointed sting-back.

As it was . . .

Volesky's neck received the Finely Honed Axe of Free Speech Elimination:

The US Army's former top spokesman, Lt. Gen. Gary Volesky, has been relieved of his duties as an adviser to active-duty officers amid a probe into his controversial response to Jill Biden’s claim that the rights of American women had been stolen by the Supreme Court.

[A] US Army spokeswoman confirmed that “pending the outcome of the commander’s inquiry” the commanding general of the Combined Arms Center . . . “has suspended retired Lt. Gen. Gary Volesky from performing duties as a Highly Qualified Expert – Senior Mentor.”

The army did not reveal the exact reason for the inquiry.

However, USA Today, which was first to report the incident, alleged Volesky's statement may be considered a breach of decorum for a retired military officer who was on a $92-an-hour contract consulting the Pentagon.

Obviously

For the good of all — including women who are not — we cannot have a lowly general (and a quasi-retired one at that) intelligently correcting the First Lady on matters of reasonably obvious and genomically practicable biology.

The moral? — We Americans will soon need Presidential Approval to say anything at all

I can imagine how much time such an approval process will take, per inquiry.

And how many layers of bureaucratic ineptitude — and sheer foolishness — the process will have to wade through.

I bet there will be a cash fee, too.

Perhaps it would be simpler to have an online — Wikipedia-like — no-charge source of pre-approved messages. Maybe a thousand or so, guaranteed to be emotionally harmless to all persons, of whatever gender and mental acuity.

Such a pre-approved Speech List would keep things simple. We could even automatize them.

Simply press a button on one's chest, and out comes one or more of these Safe-to-Make observations and responses.

Kind'a like being a happy, productive member of China's social credit-leading elite.

All this taking place, while we live out our American lives in (oligarchically parasitized and fleecing) sheepy pastures. As we — mindlessly placidly — chew our bovine-like cud with woolly-headed enthusiasm.

Nirvana.

Long live the United States' experiment in something.
