Does Russian leadership's strategic and messaging ineptitude — in conducting the Ukraine War — justify the West's contempt for the Federation?

Answer — probably yes
Alexander Mercouris highlighted Russia's complacent approach to the Ukraine War in the below-linked video.
The most pertinent part of his presentation (with Alex Christoforou) begins at the 16:30 minute mark and extends intelligently on for about 30 minutes more.
The Duran, Russia Frontline Advance. Putin's Messaging Woes as Lavrov's WW3 Warning Ignored, YouTube (28 June 2026)
My view . . .
. . . of Putin's indecisive strategic complacence is now so contemptuous of him — and Russia's apparently obsequious military general staff — that I no longer much care, if the genuinely evil American neocon establishment succeeds in dismembering the Russian homeland.
Humanity will benefit from having some of this planet's staggeringly inept plethora of leadership wimps metaphorically removed from influencing Homo sapiens' genome.
The moral? — Cowardice, unrealism, and rank stupidity are . . .
. . . (to my arguably primitive mind) even uglier than the West's rampaging, somewhat competently implemented, greed.
