Joe Kent set the principled standard — that American 3 and 4 stars are too cowardly to meet

The United States' war-criminal . . .

 

. . . attack against Iran fully demonstrates the absence of professional honor among American leadership.

 

Including — most pertinently — our 3 and 4 star military leaders.

 

 

With one (perhaps surprising) exception

 

Joe Kent, Director of the National Counterterrorism Center. Allegedly a member of the political 'far right'.

 

Below are key extracts from Kent's letter of resignation, as posted on X — my insertion in brackets:

 

 

After much reflection, I have decided to resign from my position as Director of the National Counterterrorism Center, effective today.

 

I cannot in good conscience support the ongoing war in Iran. Iran posed no imminent threat to our nation, and it is clear that we started this war due to pressure from Israel and its powerful American lobby.

 

As a veteran who deployed to combat 11 times [as a green beret] and as a Gold Star husband who lost my beloved wife Shannon in a war manufactured by Israel, I cannot support sending the next generation off to fight and die in a war that serves no benefit to the American people nor justifies the cost of American lives.

 

 

The moral? — On the one hand, Joe Kent's . . .

 

. . . (apparently old fashioned) sense of personal and professional honor.

 

And on the contrasting other, an ocean-to-ocean American leadership raft that is comprised of the worst (Hannah Arendt-pinpointed) 'banality of evil' scumbags on this planet.

 

America has sunk itself.

 

Via the weight of its (now characteristic) cowardly and morally unprincipled dishonor.
